Jõgeva and Kaarina, lets volunteer!
-project aims to streghten volunteers'
skills and motivation at Jõgeva, Estonia
and Kaarina, Finland.
During the project the relationship
between these small Cities will be
strenghtened as individuals meet
and get to know each other.
Main theme to work with:
VOLUNTEER WORK IN CHANGE - Are
the organizations ready to change
their operating manners in a
changing world?
How the project works:
a team of volunteers from
Kaarina (Finland) will travel to Jõgeva
(Estonia) in June 2020.
Joint seminar and workshops will
be arranged in Jõgeva.
Wide variety of questions related to
civil society and active citizenship
will be addressed
at the project´s four workshops:
1. The Challenges of Changing -Workshop,
2. The Future of Organizations,
3. Finland-Estonia cooperation,
4. European Union and us - workshop.
During the workshops estonian and
finnish participants share visions of future
and their experiences.
25 finnish visitors and local group of 20
will be participating at the workshops.
The final day of the meeting will be a
functional workshop looking for
“The Common Thread”.The workshop will
happen in different locations in Jõgeva
area. For example; nature / sports /
dance associations are looking for solutions
to future challenges through nature path /
movement / dance.
Handicraft Associations in Common Craft
Production. Resident associations
/ home associations through an open event.
How do we operate:We will use so-called
“peer interpreters”, ie Estonian language
enthusiasts who can help in
Finnish-Estonian discussions.
(No professional translators, and English
is used as an auxiliary language,
most of the conversation would
be in Finnish and Estonian.)
Expected outcome: motivated and
eager volunteers, who will be ready
to develop their own NGO's work and
it's future visions.
They will have more updated knowledge
on European Union's effect
on local level. Small Twin Cities Kaarina
and Jõgeva will get more active relations.
Programme: Europe for Citizens
