MERI48h — mitä merestä voi syntyä 48 tunnissa?

Tule luomaan uutta yhdessä! MERI48h kokoaa eri taustoista tulevia tekijöitä merelliseen esityslaboratorioon luomaan uutta teatterifestivaalia Forum Marinumin alueelle. Viikonlopun aikana pienryhmät valmistavat lyhyitä esityksiä, jotka jaetaan yleisön kanssa sunnuntaina 1.11. klo 15 alkavissa demoesityksissä.
Lähtökohtana on meri: sen liike, muistot, reitit, elämänmuodot ja suhteemme siihen. Ryhmät saavat yhteisen inspiraatioaineiston ja työskentelyä suuntaavat pelisäännöt. Mukaan ei tarvitse tuoda valmista teosta, esitysten sisältö ja paikat löytyvät prosessin aikana.
Etsimme mukaan esittävän taiteen tekijöitä, joita kiinnostaa yhteinen luominen ja kokeileminen. Voit työskennellä esimerkiksi esiintymisen, ohjauksen, dramaturgian, tanssin, äänen, musiikin tai visuaalisen ilmaisun parissa. Ikäraja 18+. Valitsemme hakemusten perusteella mukaan noin 12–18 osallistujaa ja muodostamme kolme työryhmää osallistujien osaamista ja kiinnostuksia yhdistellen.
Milloin ja missä?
Prosessi alkaa perjantaina 30.10. 18:00. Perjantaina voi osallistua myös etänä; Turussa paikan päällä kokoontumistilana on S/S Boren Baltic-sali klo 18–21. Lauantaina ja sunnuntaina työskentelemme Turussa. Forum Marinumin museotiloissa työskentelyaika on klo 10–17; muu yhteinen ohjelma ilmoitetaan erikseen. Osallistuminen edellyttää sitoutumista koko sovittuun ohjelmaan.
Osallistumisen ehdot
Osallistuminen: maksuton. Matkat, majoitukset ja ruokailut: omakustanteiset (tarkemmat hintatiedot lähetetään mukaan valituille osallistujille, neuvottelemme ryhmälle tarjoushinnat).
Laivahostel S/S Bore tarjoaa majoitusta koodilla Meri48h: yhden hengen hytti 50 €/yö tai kahden hengen hytti 68 €/yö. Aamiainen sisältyy hintaan. Huom. perjantaina on mahdollisuus etäosallistumiseen, joten se mahdollistaa saapumisen Turkuun myös lauantaina, jolloin riittää yksi majoitusyö.
Työskentelykielet valitaan osallistujien mukaan (suomi, englanti, viro, muut mahdolliset ryhmille sopivat kielet). Kerro meille, jos tarvitset osallistumiseen liittyviä erityisjärjestelyjä; keskustelemme mahdollisuuksista kanssasi.

MERI48h – what can the sea bring to life in 48 hours?
Open call for performing artists | Turku | 30 October – 1 November 2026
Come and create something new together! MERI48h brings together artists from different backgrounds for a maritime performance laboratory, where we will create a new theatre festival in Turku, the Forum Marinum museum area. Over the weekend, small groups prepare short performances, which are shared with an audience in demo performances on Sunday 1 November starting at 15.00.
The starting point is the sea: its movement, memories, routes, forms of life and our relationship with it. The groups receive shared inspiration material and a set of guiding rules for the work. You do not need to bring a finished work. The content and locations of the performances emerge during the process.
We are looking for performing artists who are drawn to creating and experimenting together. You may work, for example, in acting, directing, dramaturgy, dance, sound, music or visual expression. Minimum age 18. Based on the applications we will select around 12–18 participants and form three working groups, combining the participants' skills and interests.
When and where?
The process begins on Friday 30 October at 18.00. On Friday you can also take part online; in Turku the on-site meeting place is the Baltic Hall on board S/S Bore from 18.00 to 21.00. On Saturday and Sunday we work in Turku. Working hours in the Forum Marinum museum are 10.00–17.00; other joint programme will be announced separately. Participation requires commitment to the whole agreed programme.
Terms of participation
Participation: free of charge. Travel, accommodation and meals: at your own expense (detailed price information will be sent to participants together with the selection; we are negotiating group rates).
The ship hostel S/S Bore offers accommodation with the code Meri48h: single cabin 50 €/night or double cabin 68 €/night. Breakfast is included. Note: online participation is possible on Friday, so you can also arrive in Turku on Saturday, in which case one night's accommodation is enough.
Working languages are chosen according to the participants (Finnish, English, Estonian and other languages that suit the groups). Let us know if you need any special arrangements; we will discuss the options with you.

In the selection process we are looking for motivation, readiness to collaborate and complementary skills. Selections will be announced on 7th of October.
